Speaking at a recent event, the former minister and justice reform advocate stated that the absence of adequate support systems for men has resulted in premature deaths among many.

Dalung also called on both federal and state governments to create ministries dedicated to men’s affairs, akin to those for women’s affairs.

Barrister Solomon Dalung on Facebook wrote: ”Justice demands we’ve ministry of men affairs”I have a neighbor here in Abuja who is an orphan, now in his late 70s. He used all his money to train his children and support his family.

They are well established, and his wife is now traveling, going on omugwo from Amsterdam to China to America, visiting their children. Meanwhile, the man is left here in Abuja; he doesnt have money anymore because everything he worked for in his life, he invested in the family.

Each time his wife returns, she comes back with a Bible and wine as gifts for him. That is the average situation of a Nigerian man, yet allegations of failure are constantly lumped on us as being responsible.
When you mentioned the idea of a Ministry of Men Affairs, I was pleased, as I have been an advocate for it.

We need a Ministry of Men Affairs because theres no ministry exclusively for men. Just because a man is the President of Nigeria doesnt mean he is the representative of the male gender; he is just a male, just like you have women in positions.

I think justice demands that we should give more attention to our men.Men do not live as long. If you go to the church, youll see a committee of widows, but you wont find a committee of widowers. Most men are gone between 50 to 60 years, and nobody is concerned about them.

The discord between the music pair became public when Paul, in an interview, accused his twin of petitioning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to apprehend him.

In response to the accusation, Peter refuted the claims in an open letter on social media, emphasizing his intention to uncover the truth regarding a secret company, Northside Music, allegedly owned by Jude and his wife, Ifeoma.

In reaction, Jude, during an Instagram live session on Saturday, refuted the claims of funneling P-Square’s royalties, worth millions of dollars, into a personal account.

Nevertheless, in an Instagram live session on Monday, August 19, 2024, Rudeboy remarked, “Even if we don’t continue with P-Square, can’t we still be brothers? Even if we can’t make music, can’t we still be brothers?”

“Like I said, I don’t want to talk much. I don’t used to talk before. It’s so unfortunate.”

Pastor Ashimolowo Reveals Losing 200 Million In Nigerian Bank Shares

Obasempire reports that the Global President of Kingsway International Christian Centre, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has disclosed how he lost around 200 million in bank shares through investments in Nigerian banks.

He advised that instead of investing in bank shares, Nigerians should consider real estate, which he believes offers greater profitability.

He made these comments in a viral video on Monday, amid increasing calls from banks for the public to buy their shares.

Ashimolowo recounted a particularly difficult episode from 2005 or 2006 when he borrowed ₦60 million from Sterling Bank to purchase shares in Skye Bank. Unfortunately, the value of these shares dropped from ₦14 to ₦2.50, leading to a considerable loss.

He stated, “In Nigerian shares space, I have suffered and won’t touch it. If you notice all over the place, the banks are now calling people to buy shares, how many will buy? Hear my story and I will mention banks because it’s not a lie. I bought 36 million from the first bank at N12 per share, it fell to N6.

He also recalled how Sterling Bank sent four policemen to his office to collect the money he had borrowed to invest in Skye Bank shares.

“I had to find that money within 2-3 months,” Ashimolowo added.

He shared his experience with GTB shares, which he purchased at around ₦18 per share, only to see the price drop to ₦3.60.

Despite the losses faced by shareholders, Ashimolowo noted that bank managing directors continue to grow wealthier.

Commenting on the broader situation in the country, Ashimolowo expressed that both leadership and systemic issues are at the root of Nigeria’s challenges.

“In Nigeria, we have two big problems. You think our problem is leadership, no. It’s two, the leadership and the system. If we have a good leader flying a plane that is leaking oil, You will still have a problem. If you have a perfect plane with a bad pilot, you will have a problem.

“So, we have two problems in Nigeria. Quality leadership is a problem and we are flying a broken plane,” he stated.

However, fans could be heard chanting Van Nistelrooy’s name—who is now part of the coaching staff under Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman promptly and graciously gestured towards the squad, encouraging the supporters to direct their affection towards them.

“He’s becoming the coach when we sack Erik ten Hag,” one fan said on social media. While a second shared: “Oi this is our next manager! I can see it!”

“My favourite moment after the game Friday night. Ruud Van Nistelrooy coming over to Garnacho, speaking to him and giving him a pat on the back. Van Nistelrooy returned to the Red Devils over the summer after he spent five prolific season in Manchester in the 2000s – the Dutchman scored 150 goals, putting him 11th on the club’s all-time list but left in controversial circumstances after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Shehu Sani Highlights Public Apathy Towards NAFDAC Bread Safety Warnings

Obasempire reports that amid the rising cost of living after the removal of the fuel subsidy, former Senator Shehu Sani has brought attention to a troubling issue that seems to be garnering little public notice.

In a recent tweet on his verified Twitter account, Sani voiced concern about the apparent public apathy towards warnings issued by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) concerning bread safety.

Sani tweeted, “NAFDAC is seriously raising alarm on Bread and people are just ignoring, why?” His statement comes at a time when bread, a staple food for many Nigerians, has seen significant price hikes due to the economic pressures stemming from the fuel subsidy removal.

NAFDAC, the regulatory body responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of food and drugs in Nigeria, has reportedly raised concerns over the safety standards of bread being produced and sold across the country. However, despite these warnings, there seems to be a lack of public response or outcry.

The former senator’s tweet emphasizes the broader issue of public apathy towards critical health and safety warnings, especially in times of economic hardship. With many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet, the focus has shifted primarily towards survival, often at the expense of health and safety concerns.

Sani’s statement is a call to action, urging Nigerians not to ignore the warnings from NAFDAC. The potential risks associated with consuming substandard bread could further compound the challenges facing citizens already burdened by rising costs of essential goods.

She also talked about how her husband’s role as a pastor nearly led to their separation during an interview with her colleague Biola Bayo on the Talk to B podcast.

Bidemi Kosoko shared that when she first met her husband, he was not a pastor until he received a divine calling. She noted that she had never envisioned being a pastor’s wife, which made it challenging for her to adapt to this new role and caused problems in their marriage.

Regarding speculation about her marrying later than planned, Bidemi clarified that she wed at 32, contrary to her initial plans.

She confessed that she had always hoped to marry young, ideally at 25 or 26, and to have her last child by 32, but circumstances changed.

“It’s not that I married too late. I got married at 32. I had always envisioned marrying at 25 or 26 and being done with having children by 32, then focusing on my life and career.

My husband is now a pastor, which is his calling. I didn’t marry him as a pastor, and this has almost strained our marriage because I didn’t see myself in the role of a pastor’s wife.”

Reflecting on her mother’s passing, Bidemi shared that her mom died when she was only 6. It was hard for her to grow up without a mother, but her famous dad, Jide Kosoko, worked hard to fill both roles in her life. She added:

“I lost my mum when I was 6. She died in 1992.

When I started menstruating, I couldn’t tell anybody. I cut pieces of clothes to package myself, not because there was no money to buy things I was supposed to use but because I refused to speak out.

If I had a mom, she would have noticed definitely. Of course, it wasn’t easy growing up without a mum but I thank God for the father I have.

My name is Abidemi because my dad wasn’t around when my mum had me. He was in London for a performance or show”.

Bidemi talked about the rumours of her reducing her age and shared her deep love for her children. She mentioned:

“People always say I am lying about my age especially when my dad wished me a happy birthday and revealed my real age, which left people in doubt.

I love my kids so much and I am the type of lady they call ‘Werey Olomo’. I always want my kids to be around me. So they are my hand bag, we go everywhere together. I stopped traveling because of my children. I can’t leave them alone for a long time”.
