Adams berated President Bola Tinubu administration for treating Nigerians with disdain, stating that his government is indifferent, insensitive, and unresponsive to the plight of Nigerians.

Adams’ displeasure and revulsion were expressied in a letter he penned to the president titled “President Bola Tinubu, Time is Going.”

Adams lamented that the government has failed to check the economic hardship and insecurity faced by citizens.

Adams noted that Tinubu’s administration has disappointed many Nigerians who had high hopes for his leadership. He cited the increase in fuel prices, from less than N200 to over N1000 per liter, and the depreciation of the Naira from less than N740 to over N1,600 per Dollar, as examples of the government’s poor performance.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Take-It-Back Movement, a pro-democracy organization, has urged citizens to come together and oppose the economic injustice and corruption they attribute to Tinubu’s policies.

The movement labeled Tinubu’s administration as a representation of hardship and corruption, condemning the soaring cost of living in Nigeria.

The statement read: “Nigerians, brace yourselves: General Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a symbol of hardship and corruption, has taken the helm. Mark your calendars for October 1 and join the #FearlessInOctober #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria2.0 protest to fight for our nation’s future and end the oppressive rule.”

Recall that Nigerians between 1 August to 10 August 2024, took to the streets in protest of the rising cost of living in the country.

“Don’t Pray For Nigeria”, Peter Obi Says

Obasempire reports that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has urged the public to direct their prayers towards securing competent leaders for Nigeria instead of concentrating on prayers for the nation itself.

During his appearance on News Central TV on Monday, September 9, Obi clarified that Nigeria is already richly endowed, but its advancement has been obstructed by self-serving and ineffective politicians.

“Don’t pray for Nigeria, because the nation is already blessed. Instead, pray for us to have good leaders. The problem lies with the people, not with the country,” Obi said, emphasising the importance of leadership in driving the nation’s development.

He further explained that with selfless and visionary leadership, Nigeria would make significant progress, ensuring a better quality of life for all citizens.

“If we have leaders who prioritise the country’s welfare over personal interests, Nigeria will thrive, and the people will enjoy a better life,” he added.

Obi’s comments highlight his belief that the nation’s challenges stem from poor leadership and not from any lack of potential or resources, hence his advise that Nigerians direct their prayers towards fostering good governance and ensuring that the right people are in positions of power.

Pinnick also urged players to have the mindset of ‘wanting to die for their country’.

He spoke following Eguavoen’s recent return to the Super Eagles on an interim basis.

Recall that the NFF appointed Eguavoen as interim coach of the Super Eagles last month after failing to reach a final agreement with German coach Bruno Labbadia.

Eguavoen was given the task to lead the Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda in September.

When asked about Eguavoen having a godfather, Pinnick told Arise News: “Eguavoen is absolutely nothing, not like that. If you remember the Shuaibu Amodu time, as a technical director, even in major teams in global football, a technical director takes charge when there is a vacuum in the coaching crew.
“That is what happened. Eguavoen is still the technical director of the Nigerian Federation. If it was someone else, that person would have taken charge.

“I believe that it is more about the players, not even the coach. The players should look at that green-white-green flag, should look at that emblem and say “I want to die for Nigeria.”

Edwin Clark Challenges Wike’s Claim Of Unshakable Political Power

Obasempire reports that prominent Nigerian statesman Edwin Clark responded to former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike’s assertion that his political dominance was unassailable in a recent video shared by News Central TV.

Amid the ongoing conflict between Wike and his successor, Governor Sim Fubara, Clark made these statements.

Clark offered a historical view on political leadership in Rivers State, detailing a tradition of governors transferring their political frameworks to their successors.

He pointed out that Wike himself had benefited from this practice, having been endorsed for leadership positions early in his career by numerous political figures.

The elder statesman recounted Wike’s political journey, stating, “Nyesom Wike was a young lawyer struggling to make a living in our motor park. He showed great efficiency in managing the motor park in his local government so he was recommended by John Mbata to be made a local government chairman during the tenure of Odili.”

Clark further detailed Wike’s career progression, noting his roles as Chief of Staff under Rotimi Amaechi and later as a minister under President Goodluck Jonathan, all facilitated by recommendations from influential leaders.

Challenging Wike’s claim of sole ownership over the state’s political structure, Clark posed a rhetorical question: “The question I want to ask is if all these persons I mentioned come to claim to own the structure, where will be Rivers State for Wike to tell his supporters that no one will take their structure not while they live?”

Katsina Governor Urges Residents To Arm Against Bandits

Obasempire reports that Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has called on residents to take up arms and defend themselves against bandits.

This is as the leader, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, acknowledged the government’s failure to protect them.

Radda made the comments during a town hall meeting in Daura, tagged ‘Public Engagement: 2025 Citizens’ Budget Participation Process’.

In a trending video on social media, Radda, who appeared angry could be heard saying, “It is unfortunate that a few bandits/gunmen would raid and abuse a whole community. Even themselves (bandits), are afraid of death,” he said.

He added, “…of all the terrorists operating in Katsina State, they are barely in possession of 700 rifles.

“Regrettably, three famished and emaciated bandits would hunt down 1,000 people while we look helplessly as some hide beneath their beds,” he lamented.

He then asked, “Members of the clergy are here, and it’s mandatory upon them to pass to the general public Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s message concerning a robber that comes after your life or wealth. What did God command you to do?”l

“What humiliation! A situation where you stand idly watching while your wife or daughter is being raped? What is the essence of you being alive thereafter? Death is more honourable than some kinds of humiliation,” he said implying there’s every gain after death for the people to confront the bandits.

He added, “They spare any community that they are aware resists their incursions. They don’t dare attack such communities.

“We must raise insurrections and wanton killings. We have to be battle-ready,” he added.

He pointed out that, “Anytime, five or even 10 of them raid your community and you mobilise like 500 people, before he eliminates five persons, you would have tamed him – whoever he is.

“It is just a façade…they are runaways and afraid of death even more than us. They only want to instil fear and anxiety in us,” the governor added.

Katsina State has been plagued by banditry and terrorist attacks, with over 13 local government areas under terrorist control.
