Wicked, Unpatriotic! – Labour Party Blasts Tinubu As Trump Threatens War

The Labour Party (LP) has accused President Bola Tinubu of hypocrisy and denial over targeted attacks on Christians.

The interim National Publicity Secretary, Tony Akeni, pointed out that while Goodluck Jonathan was President, Tinubu never hesitated to call him out over the killings perpetrated by Boko Haram.

He stated this during an interview with Punch while reacting to President Donald Trump’s public threat to use military force over the alleged killings of Christians in Nigeria

The U.S. President, in a fiery post on his Truth Social platform, declared that Nigeria had been designated a “Country of Particular Concern” and directed his Department of War to “prepare for possible action” if the killings continued.

Reacting, Akeni said, “Eleven years ago, before Bola Tinubu railroaded the system to declare him President, he tweeted in 2014 that the killing of Christian worshippers was condemnable and questioned Jonathan’s competence.

At that time, about 11,000 Christians had been killed by Boko Haram in four years. Another 6,500 died between 2010 and 2015. Under Tinubu, that figure has skyrocketed to over 14,000 within two years, nearly double the PDP-era rate.”

Akeni described Tinubu’s dismissal of targeted Christian killings as “wicked, godless, and unpatriotic,” and commended Trump and other U.S. officials for their “courage and conviction.”

He also urged the U.S. to extend protection to liberal Muslim communities that have stood against extremism.

They have shown that a united Nigeria, irrespective of religion or politics, is possible if we have good leaders,” he said.

President Tinubu, in a statement posted on X, rejected Trump’s classification of Nigeria as religiously intolerant, insisting that the country remains committed to constitutional guarantees of religious freedom.

Again, Trump speaks on alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria

The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has again addressed the alleged killing of Christians in Nigeria by some Islamic terrorists.

Speaking in a 15-second video while on board Air Force One on Sunday, November 2, 2025, the American President said the US government would not sit back and watch the ongoing acts of terrorism in Africa’s most populous nation.

He said, “They’re killing a record number of Christians in Nigeria and the country is going bad also. You know, that part of the world, very bad. They’re killing the Christians and killing them in very numbers and we’re not gonna allow that to happen.”

This reaffirmation by Trump on the alleged killings comes barely two days after he announced the designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern.

Describing Nigeria as a “now disgraced country”, Trump also threatened to invade the African nation with troops from the US Department of War while ending the flow of funds for various humanitarian interventions.

He said, “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.

I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians!”Trump wrote on social media. These declarations by Trump followed a series of allegations of Christian genocide in the Northern part of Nigeria, including a bill – The Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act of 2025 – which was sponsored by US Senator Ted Cruz.

Cruz, had, under the International Religious Freedom Act, cited what he described as “the world’s deadliest persecution of Christians.

While his move caused commendation by some Nigerians across the globe, the Federal Government at different times denied such claims, describing the US lawmaker’s allegations as a calculated effort to spread false narratives about Nigeria.

I Spent Thousands Of Dollars For This Event – Moses Bliss Cries Out After Being Denied Visa For Worship Concert

Nigerian gospel singer, Moses Bliss, was unable to perform at a major worship event in Tanzania after facing visa challenges.

ObasEmpire understand that the concert, which reportedly attracted over 60,000 people, was set to take place on October 2, after Bliss’s earlier performance in Kenya.

Bliss and his team planned to fly from Nairobi to Tanzania for the free event.

However, upon reaching the airport, they discovered that their visas had not been approved, despite prior confirmation from the organizers.

Efforts to resolve the situation included contacting various authorities across Africa and seeking intervention from government officials and ambassadors, but these attempts were unsuccessful.

The team was later advised to try obtaining visas on arrival in Dar es Salaam, yet Tanzanian immigration officials denied them entry when they landed at midnight.

Bliss described the experience as painful, given the extensive preparation and resources invested to make the event free for attendees.

He said, “Hello my family in Tanzania. I’m here in Tanzania right now, I’m not just allowed to come. It’s very unfortunate that I couldn’t make it to worship with us today. I heard there were about 60,000 of you who came out. I’m sorry, I did my best.

We made every contact possible from everywhere around Africa. We even got presidential intervention, talking to different people in government and ambassadors, but we couldn’t get visas.

They told us we would get a visa on arrival, and we landed. We’ve been here now for about six hours. No way to go in, the immigration won’t let us in. Apparently, no visa on arrival again for us.

It’s very painful because we’ve been praying and looking forward to this event for so long. We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to make this event absolutely free for you to just come and worship the Lord Jesus with us.

“I did everything within my power to be with you guys tonight to worship Jesus with you. They didn’t let us in. We’re here now in Tanzania, just waiting for the next flight to take us back to Kenya, Nairobi. Hopefully, we’re able to do this next time. Thank you for your support, thank you for believing. It’s fine, it is well.

Tanzania, please hear me, you were not at fault. You came out in numbers, ready for God, and that moves me deeply. I owe you not just an apology, but a promise, by God’s grace, I will return.”

It was gathered that the bandits upon invading the mosque rained bullets on the worshippers leading to the death of 13 of them.

Several others were also wounded in the attack which took place in the early hours of Tuesday, August 19.

In reaction to the attack, the Katsina State government has ordered the deployment of a team of security operatives to the area.

Sources said the bandits launched the attack on the Unguwan Mantau community in what is supposed to be a reprisal attack

Nasir Mu’azu, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs said the victims were praying when the incident happened.

“The incident occurred when criminal elements launched a reprisal attack on the community. The Muslim members of the community were praying in the mosque during the Fajr prayer when the criminal element started shooting sporadically in the mosque.

The attack was in retaliation for the community’s successful defence efforts two days earlier. The people of Unguwan Mantau decided to lay an ambush against the bandits and killed many of them. They rescued victims taken from Ruwan Sanyi village and seized 3 motorcycles and 2 AK-47s,” Mu’azu said.

In addition, Mu’azu noted that the air component commander of the Forward Operating Base, Nigerian Army, and Nigerian Police Force have already deployed operatives to clear those bandits.

He said that during the rainy season, these bandits hide under the crops within the farmlands to perpetrate their evil acts.

As government, we salute the gallantry and disposition of the people of Unguwar Mantau, and we are committed to fighting these bandits and ensuring safety across our communities,” he stated.

He further extended the state government’s condolences to the families of those affected by the incident.

Military aiding armed herdsmen to attack Benue indigenes” – Catholic priest

A Catholic priest has accused the military of complicity in the recent attack on St. Paul’s Catholic Parish in Ikobi, Apa LGA of Benue State.

The priest, identified as Rev. Fr. Remigius Ihyula, said armed Fulani herdsmen razed the parish rectory and looted worship items on Monday.

The attack also displaced dozens of residents, with many fleeing into the bushes.

Ihyula, who serves as the Director of Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, alleged that the attackers moved freely and operated in full view of military personnel.

He said the Church and its humanitarian partners had supported displaced communities for years but are now targets of escalating violence.

St. Paul’s Parish Ikobi, established in 2014, has been reduced to rubble. My life’s work has been destroyed,” Ihyula said.

He added that no community in Apa LGA is safe, and accused the Nigerian military of backing the invaders.

Intersociety, a human rights group, said more than 7,000 Christians have been killed across Nigeria in 2025 alone.

The group warned that Christians could go extinct in Nigeria if the killings are not stopped.
