Tears flow as Phyna ‘s Sister Ruth Otabor Buried in Ogun State.

Ruth was involved in a crash on August 13, 2025, when a truck belonging to the Dangote Group hit her near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, just six days after her graduation.

Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Level Up season, has laid her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, to rest weeks after she lost her life in a tragic road accident.

Recall that the accident left her with severe injuries, including the amputation of one leg, damage to the other, as well as head and hand injuries.

Despite efforts to save her, the 24-year-old lady died on August 31 at about 6:30 a.m., as announced by the family through their legal representatives.

Her remains were conveyed from Ebony Mortuary, Ikoyi to her residence in Ikorodu, Ogun State.

Videos circulating online from the burial shows Phyna surrounded by friends and ex-BBNaija housemates, including Christy O and Groovy, who stood by her during the emotional ceremony

The Dangote Group had earlier expressed sorrow over the death, insisting it had covered Ruth’s medical bills, made arrangements for treatment abroad, and provided support to the family.

However, the loss has sparked public outrage, with many calling for justice and better corporate responsibility regarding road safety.

An alleged audio recording of Auchi SUG accusing Phyna of being ungrateful and uncaring towards her late sister have surfaced online.

In the audio recording, the man revealed that Phyna had supposedly neglected her sister after winning BBNaija.

He opined that despite Phyna’s wealth, her sister was still struggling in school trying to complete her diploma.

The Auchi SUG president slammed phyna for trying to collect one billion naira in damages for the injury her late sister sustained.

Dangote Reacts to News Of Phyna Sister’s Death

The Dangote Group has expressed profound sadness over the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna , who died weeks after a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.

In a statement issued shortly after the announcement of her passing,  the company said:“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State.”

Dangote Group noted that since the accident, its officials and insurance partners had supported Ruth and her family, covering all financial and medical expenses.

The statement added that arrangements had been made to fly her abroad for advanced treatment.

Ruth’s death was earlier confirmed by Eko Solicitors & Advocates on behalf of the Otabor family.

With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to the glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.

The family added that they are devastated by the tragedy and have requested privacy to grieve, noting that details of Ruth’s funeral arrangements will be made public at a later date.

Ruth’s death comes just weeks after she was hit by a heavy-duty truck linked to Dangote Group near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, on August 13.

Eyewitnesses said the truck crushed her leg before it was eventually stopped by a bystander.
